hello all.. i post here under a different name but feel the need to unburden myself anonymously.
i hope you can understand.. several years ago, while married and an active dub, i had a one night stand.
i was mortified at what i had done because this had happened before and i had told my wife.

well we now have a wonderful happy healthy baby boy ,as of march 30th.
not getting much sleep ,but oh well , he is a joy to have.so wish us luck, we have a 18 month old also, so this should be interesting.
so far my in-laws have not even come to visit or see him at the hospital or to our home , even though they have been told they are always welcome.

Here's what I was thinking, and maybe I'm way off base here. Someone doesn't want to have the account servant knowing that they're ONLY giving a measly little $5 might hold off until they have a more "respectable" amount to give. ( I know, I know. Widow's mite and all that notwithstanding. I'm just talking vain old human nature here. )
Anyway, the $5 ends up staying in their pocket and going into the after-meeting cash register of the local burger joint instead. And the "respectable" donation never or rarely happens.

I'm spinning off of that with these 2 questions:
1. Will the change in 2007 IRS Tax Rules about documenting charitable contributions result in a further drying up of the fiscal Euphrates that feeds the Tower?
(If you haven't heard, you can no longer claim cash donations on your taxes unless you have some form of documentation. Even if it's less than $250 on a given day.)
2. Do you think the average dub overstated cash contributions in the past? Did you?

how much money do you think the average jw contributes to the wts each month?
is this personal money, money from selling books or what?

When forced into a situation where I actually have to ring a bell out in service and someone else is with me, I'll read this scripture and ask the householder for their take on it.
People from all different backgrounds (who don't throw me off the porch first) will usually share their perspective since I'm not cramming litter-ature down their throats.

There are a few things good about it but I just about sprayed my monitor when I read this from OUTLAW:

thanks to the last three paragraphs of this week's wt being devoted to complete insanity, i passed a tiny, tiny, little mile-stone in fading.
i didn't comment once during the wt!!
i usually try to make one comment that doesn't make my stomach turn too much to keep up my good, active-dub appearances.

OpenMind while considering the revelation book where it talks about angelic guidance in providing spiritual food because a couple of brothers where at the right place at the right time I tried to reason with a loved one saying, well then those that got caught while smuggling literature what should they say? no angelic protection?
Thanks for the suggestion. I've mainly been avoiding this book for our "family study" because it drives me so utterly batty. But that's probably a tactical error on my part. I think we'll have to break it out for sure when we get to the angelic direction part. There's so much other crap in there too, I'm probably passing up some golden opportunities. Oh well. Guess I'll just plug my nose and dive in.
